Give to Vista Grande Villa

Sow a seed and the earth will yield a flower.

–Kahlil Gibran

There are many ways to leave a bequest. Or, make a gift for tomorrow with income and tax benefits today.

One of today’s biggest areas of growth for nonprofit fundraising is Planned Giving. It is estimated that over the next 25 years, nearly $6 trillion will transfer to charitable organizations through bequests, trusts and other planned gifts. Just last year, over $30 billion was transferred via bequests alone.

Ninety percent of planned gifts in the United States take the form of bequests—legacy gifts left to a nonprofit after a donor has passed away. The donation process is relatively simple and straightforward. You can make a charitable bequest via a trust, will, or estate plan.

Charitable bequests usually fall into three categories:

  • Specific Amount: Just as it sounds, in these cases you allocate an exact set of funds to Vista Grande Villa.
  • Remainder: In this case, you can choose to have Vista Grande Villa receive any money left after all other bequests are paid out.
  • Percentage: You can also choose to gift Vista Grande Villa a set percentage of your total wealth.

Vista Grande Villa is fortunate to benefit from thoughtful bequests provided by its appreciative residents and their families. Perhaps you have thought about including Vista Grande Villa in your will or other estate plans. What impact would you like to attain? Please feel free to contact Tim Swope, Vista Grande Villa Director of Fund Development, at 517-962-7716 to discuss all your options.
